At Veterinary Education Outreach (VET-EO), we are committed to empowering veterinarians in low and middle-income countries who face significant challenges in accessing resources and education. Many dedicated professionals work in underserved areas with limited equipment, training, and support. Our mission is to provide them with the tools they need to deliver quality veterinary care, strengthening animal welfare and public health.
Through partnerships with local communities and global organizations, we focus on sustainable solutions, including professional training, medical supply donations, and mentorship programs. By fostering education and collaboration, we help veterinarians enhance their skills, expand their impact, and build a brighter future for animals and their communities.
At VET-EO, we provide comprehensive support to veterinarians in low and middle-income countries through multiple pathways. Our tailored inititaives combine technology, expertise, and hands-on training to address the unique challenges faced by veterinary professionals in resource-limited settings.
Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center - Costa Rica
I met Nic during her visit to Rescate Widlife Rescue Center in Costa Rica, the largest wildlife hospital in the country. We receive over 3,000 animals a year from all sorts of species, but we felt that our diagnostic capacity wasn't as good as it could be. Nic taught us a lot of diagnostic imaging principles that have been incredibly useful to enhance our skills and therefore the care for the animals. Nic is very patient and kind, and is always happy to share her knowledge.
She guided us while scanning a variety of species (from raccoons and sloths to baby monkeys and macaws) and thanks to her we now feel a lot more confident and empowered during health evaluations of the variety of animals that we receive. Having a specialist so keen to spend time teaching us in such a professional yet personal way is a privilege, and I am very happy to see Vet-EO providing support to veterinary professionals where it is most needed.
